PDF conversion & rendering

We made significant improvements to the service that converts and renders PDFs. This should help speed up uploads and keep image heavy PDFs working smoothly.

Export as PDF

With a Supehero plan you can now export markups as PDFs!

Blur Tool

Many of you have asked about this feature, and it's finally here. Superhero's can now blur markups to obfuscate sensitive information. We even flatten the blur into the markup file so it's secure and can't be edited. Upload something and try it out.

Increased max file size from 8MB to 50MB for Superhero plan

We've increased the upload limit for Superhero's to begin accommodating larger PDFs.

Chrome Extension

We've released the first version of our Chrome extension so that you can take screenshots straight from your browser and on Chrome OS. Install the Markup Hero extension for free from the Chrome Web Store.

Google Drive Integration

You can now annotate & draw on Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, PDFs & images straight from your Google Drive. Install the app for free.

  • We've added a Delete Object button to clearly show you when and how to delete an object while editing.
  • We've reworked history to be easier to navigate. It's now accessible through the Markups button on the nav. View your history here.
  • Superhero accounts can now add tags to organize their markups as well as star important markups for quick access in history. Upgrade here to try it out!

Line Tool

  • We've added a Line Tool and also made the share, copy, download, and duplicate buttons accessible without an extra click on smaller desktop devices.

Sharing Permissions

  • Every markup now has link share permissions which determine whether a link can be viewed by others. By default, link share permissions are set to public. Private link settings are only available for Superhero accounts. Read more here.

Subscriptions Live

• We released our new Superhero pro plan. Superhero gives you access to all our features including unlimited uploads, markup edits, and history. It will soon include custom privacy and sharing options as well. As a big thank you we are giving early adopters a free year of Superhero with no credit card required. Message us on Intercom to get your free promo code.

Add Images to Markups

  • You can now insert images into your markups! On any screenshot, multipage image upload, or PDF you can insert images by clicking the Insert Image button or pasting an image from you clipboard using CTRL V / ⌘V.

Tools Improvements

  • We've expanded the text size range to allow for smaller and larger fonts. To adjust font outside the default size presets you can simply drag the corner of the text box to scale up and down to fit your needs.
